Who are we? Three MIT math students: Mark Sellke, Ofer Grossman, and Yang Liu. Together, we account for four IMO gold medals as well as first place results at national MathCounts and the Putnam exam. We’ve seen both sides of the story, and we know how difficult it is for contest math students to find qualified tutors. We’re solving this problem.
What will we do for you? Contest Math Tutoring matches students and tutors across the country, allowing you to receive contest math instruction directly from a seasoned contest math veteran via video call. Our tutors all have standout performances on math contests. They include IMO gold medalists from 4 continents, and the majority have qualified for MOP. We offer tutoring for MathCounts/AMC 8 and up.
We offer benefits such as the following:
- With our expert tutors, you’ll get answers to the tough questions: How would I think of that? Is this idea used elsewhere? Why shouldn’t I try this other technique?
- With individual instruction, we can pinpoint mistakes and bad habits, focus on your weak points, and teach important techniques that would otherwise slip through the cracks.
- We offer trial lessons and will rematch you if you want a different tutor for any reason.
- We will match you with a tutor who can meet your schedule.
We can’t work magic: you’ll need to provide the passion and drive in order to see results. What we can do is make your hard work more effective. With our guidance, you’ll spend less time aimlessly confused and frustrated, and more time improving at problem solving.
